Erik Ten Hag's first match in charge of Manchester United will be against Liverpool, as it stands.
The Red Devils today confirmed the current Ajax boss will take over at Old Trafford once the current campaign is complete, having agreed a three-year deal to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club's full-time replacement coach.
With the 52-year-old not taking charge of a first-team fixture until leaving his post in his native country, Ten Hag will get a first look at his new set of players during the summer pre-season. United's first match during this period will come against Liverpool, having agreed a friendly match in Thailand on July 12.

The Reds will play United in a friendly at the Rajamangala Stadium on July 12 as the two giants of English football look to make the most of a lucrative tour of of Southeast Asia later this year. The exhibition contest - which will see both teams clash for the Bangkok Century Cup - will be the first time Liverpool have visited the region since 2015 under Brendan Rodgers. Following this, the Red Devils will take the next stage of their tour to Australia to face Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace.
This would not be the first time Ten Hag has shaped up against Jurgen Klopp, however, after going head-to-head in last season's Champions League group stages. Victorious by a single goal in both matches, the Ajax manager failed to get the better of the Liverpool boss.
On becoming the new manager of United, Ten Hag said: “It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.
“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United.”
