Erik ten Hag’s message to Bayern Munich as Spurs fans sweat over Mauricio Pochettino links

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he will not be joining Bayern Munich this season, despite reports that Bundesliga giants had made contact following the dismissal of manager Nico Kovac.

Bayern had been heavily linked with a move for the 49-year-old after the club confirmed the sacking of Kovac on Sunday. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked with the vacancy.

Reports have claimed that the German club will attempt to lure Pochettino away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Spurs' poor start to the season.

Speaking ahead of his club's Champions League game against Chelsea, ten Hag has ruled out a move to Germany, meaning that Bayern could now turn to Pochettino.

"Yes I can confirm I will stay," Ten Hag said. "I feel a strong connection with my team, everyone at Ajax. I can confirm I will stay at Ajax this season.

"Bayern is a fantastic club, it is still in my heart but I am at Ajax. I’m not a dreamer. I focus on Ajax and live for today and tomorrow’s game, which is important."

However, when asked if he had received any contact from the German club, the manager failed to deny anything.

"I’ve made my statement, I’ll leave it at that. Let’s talk about the game tomorrow." he said.

The manager was also asked about contact in the Dutch section of the press conference: "I can't answer that question," was his reply.
