Erik ten Hag names Mikel Arteta as Premier League's best manager ahead of Arsenal vs Man United

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has named Arsenal's Mikel Arteta as the best manager in the Premier League at this moment in time.

The Gunners have enjoyed an excellent start to the season, winning 15 of their 18 league outings, losing just once in the process, which came against United back in September. The north Londoners take on the Red Devils again on Sunday afternoon and they go into the match top of the table, eight points ahead of United, who have played an extra game in the league this term.

Now, Ten Hag has hailed the work Arteta has done at the Emirates Stadium, backing him as the best in the country currently. "I think in the Premier League there are many incredibly good coaches in this moment," the Dutchman told Sky Sports.

"He [Arteta] is definitely one of them. What he's doing, he's the best in this moment because it's really a big performance, it's huge what he's doing.

"He's managing his team and they are so consistent, the most consistent team in the Premier League in this moment, playing incredible football. It's fantastic.

"But we want to beat them. We are looking forward and we beat them already one time and we want to go for the second time. We know how to do it."

Arsenal are coming off the back of a crucial 2-0 win away to local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in last week's North London Derby when Hugo Lloris' own goal was followed up by a brilliant Martin Odegaard strike before half-time.
