Erik ten Hag delivers Nottingham Forest verdict ahead of Man United clash

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag believes that Nottingham Forest are a "really good" team ahead of Wednesday night's game.

The two Premier League sides face off in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final at Old Trafford, with kick-off set for 8pm. The hosts hold a 3-0 lead from the opening leg at the City Ground.

Despite Man United's commanding lead, Ten Hag is not taking their progression to the final at Wembley for granted and revealed that he will select a "strong" starting XI for the game.

In his pre-match press conference the Dutchman said: "We want to take the next step and we are approaching a real good team. The games before with Forest, they are in a really good run and we have to be aware of that.

"Forest have a good team, they have a real good depth in that squad and from that they can bring a good team and they can do things different. We have to be prepared for that and it is all about that.”

The two clubs have won nine EFL Cups between them in their respective histories. United lifted the trophy for the first time in 1992 when they beat Forest in the final.
