Parrott and Tanganga in as Mourinho makes changes - Tottenham lineups vs Middlesbrough

It is FA Cup third weekend, which means that Jose Mourinho has some decisions to make.

Spurs face a trip up north to take on Championship side Middlesbrough at the Riverside on Sunday. It'll be a reunion for former Tottenham man Jonathan Woodgate, who is now in charge of Boro.

It is likely that there will be changes to the Tottenham side, with the tie bringing about a good opportunity to give some players some gametime, and to give experience to youngsters such as Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga.

But what changes could Mourinho make?

We asked out Spurs writers and Spurs fans to have their say on the team for the clash.

Sunday’s game at Middlesbrough is the perfect chance to rest some key players and give some much-needed gametime to those on the periphery of the first team.

The likes of Kyle Walker-Peters, Japhet Tanganga and Troy Parrott should be given their opportunity at the Riverside Stadium, with Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela also starting from the off.

Although Jose Mourinho has a few options to pick from in midfield for the third round tie, it would be a good chance to play Juan Foyth in defensive midfield to see if he has what it takes to play there.

The team is a nice blend of youth and experience, with Mourinho having the option to bring on the big guns if needed on Teeside.

Guest's team: Vorm; Walker-Peters, Sanchez, Tanganga, Sessegnon; Foyth, Winks; Lo Celso, Lamela, Son; Parrott.

The game on Sunday offers an opportunity for Jose Mourinho to mix things up...but not too much.

Tottenham supporters like me want to win some silverware and the FA Cup back a couple of decades ago used to be our trophy.

We've won it eight times, but not since 1991 and that's a ridiculous amount of time for a club of our stature.

Mourinho was brought in to win trophies, and this would be a good starting point given our poor position in the Premier League table.

Paulo Gazzaniga has hardly covered himself in glory since taking over from the injured Hugo Lloris, so I'd give Michel Vorm a runout, although I'm not exactly enamoured with him being in goal either.

At the back I'd like to see Juan Foyth at right-back, with Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga as the centre-back pairing. Ryan Sessegnon should get another go at left-back.

Harry Winks should come back into the two in front of the defence, alongside Oliver Skipp for me.

Then there should be a trio of Giovani Lo Celso, Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min behind Troy Parrott.

Wilmot's team: Vorm; Foyth, Sanchez, Tanganga, Sessegnon; Winks, Skipp; Lo Celso, Lamela, Son; Parrott.

It's time to have your say.
