Erik Lamela has settled into life with Sevilla quickly following his move from Tottenham Hotspur, a deal that saw Bryan Gil move in the opposite direction.
Lamela's career in Spain has started well with three goals in three matches for his new side, whilst Gil has had to bide his time at Spurs. The Spaniard has only made starts in the UEFA Conference League and a brief two-minute cameo appearance off the bench against Watford in the Premier League.
The Spaniard's Spurs career may not have got off to the flying start Lamela's has in Spain but the Argentina international is confident Gil will shine for his former club.
"They [Sevilla] spoke highly of him to me. He has great potential," Lamela told AS.
"I saw him in a match and he has a lot of future ahead of him. Tottenham are a good group, they will receive you well," the Argentine added.
Gil is currently with the Spanish Under-21 side and produced a superb performance when captaining his country against Russia in the UEFA Euro Under-21 qualifiers.
The 20-year-old winger got one assist for Spain during the 4-1 win and produced an outrageous bit of skill that had Spurs fans taking to social media with excitement.
Following international duty, Gil will return to London to link up with Spurs ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday, September 11.
Lamela did have one piece of advice for the winger before he does head back to London.
"Let him buy an umbrella!" Lamela said, before adding: "Seriously, enjoy yourself, because the Premier is an incredible league."
