Erik Lamela for Ben Davies and three Tottenham changes Jose Mourinho could make vs Leeds United

Tottenham finally return to action this afternoon following the postponement of Wednesday's game against Fulham.

Usually having a packed festive period with games every few days, Jose Mourinho's men haven't taken to the pitch since Sunday's match at Wolves.

Spurs are desperate for a win and they will be intent on putting to an end four league matches without victory when Leeds come to the capital.

Mourinho is likely to freshen things up against the West Yorkshire club and he has plenty of players waiting to come in after missing out on the starting XI at Molineux last week.

Tottenham: 2020 in review

But who exactly could come into the side when Marcelo Bielsa's men make the trip to north London this lunchtime? football.london takes a look.

Aurier for Doherty

One of Mourinho's first changes could well come at right-back.

Opting for Matt Doherty in the team's previous two games, Serge Aurier hasn't featured for Spurs since needlessly giving away a penalty against Leicester City prior to Christmas.

As this definitely could have been a change to the team for the Fulham game that was postponed, the fact the Lilywhites have had almost a week off since their last fixture may see the boss keep faith with Doherty.

Aurier has had a very good start to the campaign and he will be doing all he can to ensure he is in the side against Leeds.

Alderweireld for Sanchez

Another change at the back which could very well happen is Toby Alderweireld coming back into the side.

Named on the bench against Stoke City and Wolves, Mourinho instead opted for Davinson Sanchez in both games with the Colombian in and out of the team this season.

Alderweireld needs to play again and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if the boss opts for his preferred centre-back pairing of the Belgian and Eric Dier.

Lamela/Bergwijn for Davies

All eyes will be on the teamsheet at 11.30am to see how Mourinho has lined his side up.

Opting for a back three and wing-backs against Wolves last week, there's a good chance that the boss may revert to the back four he has used for the majority of the campaign.

That may mean Ben Davies is the unlucky one to miss out, with either Erik Lamela or Steven Bergwijn coming in.

The Argentine has been utilised off the bench in the past two games since his return from injury and it may be time to start him from the off, while the Dutchman's pace could prove crucial with Leeds likely to leave gaps at the back.

It's a tough decision for Mourinho to make.

Sissoko for Winks

Harry Winks' run in the team may come to an end this afternoon.

Given the nod at Stoke and Wolves, the England international did alright in his time on the pitch in both games, notably picking up the man of the match award at the bet365 Stadium.

However, Spurs do tend to miss Moussa Sissoko's power and energy when he isn't named in the XI.

Coming off the bench in both games to help Spurs come out on top in the midfield battle, it may be time for the ex-Newcastle man to come in from the first whistle.
