Erik Gustafsson's 2nd goal lifts Blackhawks to a 4-3 OT victory over Wild

ST. PAUL, Minn. _ The Blackhawks will take every point they can get. They're in no position to leave any on the table.

Erik Gustafsson's power-play goal in overtime _ his second of the game _ gave the Hawks a 4-3 win Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center. It gave the Hawks their first four-game winning streak since they won five straight from Dec. 8-17, 2017.

The Wild took a delay of game shortly before regulation ended, and the Hawks began the extra session on a power play.

Jonathan Toews scored a power-play goal late in the third period to briefly put the Hawks ahead, 3-2. But the Victor Rask's second goal of the season for the Wild with 3 minutes, 2 seconds left in the third sent the game to overtime.

Patrick Kane assisted on Toews' goal to extend his point streak to 11 games.

The Hawks trailed 1-0 after the first period after Jason Zucker's 14 goal. Their best chance to tie it during a quiet opening session came when Brendan Perlini was taken down during a breakaway and was awarded a penalty shot.

Perlini tried to beat Wild goalie Alex Stalock through the five hole but was stymied.

The second period was similarly quiet until Alex DeBrincat perfectly threaded a wrist shot through two Wild defenders to beat Stalock and tie it 1-1 midway with 12 minutes, 9 seconds left. The Hawks went ahead about 7 minutes later on a Gustafsson slap shot for his ninth goal that made it 2-1 Hawks.

The Wild tied it with 11:49 left in the third on Mikko Koivu's wrist shot from the slot that beat Hawks goalie Collin Delia to the glove side.

Dominik Kahun and Dylan Strome had assists on each of the Hawks' first two goals.
