Eric Trump says Democrats who criticise his father are 'not even people'

Eric Trump, Donald Trump's son has called critics of his father "not even people".

Appearing on Sean Hannity's Fox News programme, Mr Trump was responding to a segment on supposed attacks against the Trump family.

"You see the Democratic Party, they are imploding...they don't even have a message," Mr Trump said

"Morality is just gone, morals have flown out the window," said Eric.

The President came under fire during the 2016 election for a leaked audio clip of his derogatory remarks about sexual assault against women.

His father's campaign team is also under investigation by the FBI, Senate, and House for alleged ties between the aides and Russia. Mr Trump's brother-in-law Jared Kushner has been named a person of interest in the probe as well.

"We deserve so much better than this as a country" than for Democrats to "obstruct a great man [like my father]" said Mr Trump.

The third son of Ivana and Donald Trump went on to say that Democrats were doing this because "they lost an election they should have won".

He paused a moment to weigh what he had just said, but recovered to blame the lack of leadership in the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for the President not being able to pass necessary legislation.

He called the head of the DNC Tom Perez a "whackjob" and complained that Democrats and media come after the Trump family "viciously".

Several people took to social media to express what they felt was irony in Mr Trump's comments.
