The season hasn’t even started yet, but Panthers safety Eric Reid says he has already been “randomly” selected for PED testing three times during the 2019 league year, according to his most recent Twitter post. Reid once again gave a shoutout to his trainers.
Drug testing is supposed to be a random process, but at a certain point the math simply doesn’t add up.
Reid believes the NFL has targeted him for drug testing because of his protesting during the national anthem. The league paid out an undisclosed settlement to Reid and former 49ers teammate Colin Kaepernick earlier this year after being sued for collusion.
Reid says he plans to continue protesting this season.
