Eric Paschall on Draymond Green comparison: ‘I find it flattering’

When the Golden State Warriors drafted Villanova forward Eric Paschall in the second round of the NBA Draft, they knew they were getting a do-it-all forward with a defensive background.

Where have we heard that one before? Oh, that’s right! It sounds like Draymond Green. The rookie has begun to hear some comparisons to the former Defensive Player of the Year who once recorded a triple-double without getting double-figures in points.

Paschall finds them flattering, but he understands he has a long way to go.

“I see it as flattering. But at the same time, there is a lot I have to do to reach that and be that type of player,” said Paschall, who added he also studies LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Paul Millsap. “He’s a heck of a player. He does everything for the team. I just want to be part of the Warriors. It helps me out a lot that I can learn from a guy like that.”

Paschall 16.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 34.8 percent from deep for the Wildcats in 2018-19 and he has the potential to be a player like Green. If he can continue to work hard and make the improvements, then the Warriors may have found themselves another second round steal.
