Eric Donovan is heading into 2021 with a victory after beating Rafael Castillo in Belgium on Saturday night.
The Kildare boxer won the six-round bout on points at the Fight Off Training Center in Wavre.
It was Donovan's first fight since losing to Zelfa Barrett at Eddie Hearn's Matchroom's Fight Camp in August when he was knocked out in the eighth round.
The 35-year-old said after Saturday's bout that he is now looking forward to spending Christmas with his family.
He posted on Instagram: "We came for the win and we got it. Job done! We finish 2020 the way we started it... winning!! I'm really excited about 2021 and what my team have in store for me.
"I want to thank all my sponsors for their loyal and amazing support. Also a big shout out to the Vanackere family here in Brussels who looked after me during my time here. They are terrific people, I'm very grateful. I was so happy to see @antoinevanackere winning the National title as well, congratulations!
