Eric Dier, Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn injury update and who Nuno will pick vs Chelsea

By Alasdair Gold

The fine start to the season for Tottenham Hotspur was undone on Saturday in the dismal derby defeat at Crystal Palace.

Spurs lost Eric Dier to injury just 12 minutes into the match at Selhurst Park to add to the injury list from the international break, which contains Son Heung-min, Steven Bergwijn and Ryan Sessegnon.

Oliver Skipp returned from an injury picked up on England U21 duty while Tottenham are without summer signing Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso, who are training in Croatia for 10 days before returning to the UK following their international appearances in red-listed South America countries.

Spurs were poor in the 3-0 loss at Palace, which saw Japhet Tanganga sent off in the second half and the defensive team selection left plenty of fans worrying whether the honeymoon was already over for Nuno Espirito Santo.
