Jose Mourinho will be hoping that Harry Kane makes a swift recovery from injury after suffering a tear in his left hamstring in the New Year's Day defeat at Southampton.
The England captain has scored goals for fun for the Lilywhites this season and his absence will be a big loss for the team as they look to close in on Chelsea in fourth.
However, it's not the first time the side have had to cope without him as he has suffered a number of issues with his ankle over the past couple of seasons.
Picking up two ankle injuries in the second half of last season against Manchester United and Man City respectively, Spurs still managed to seal a place in the Champions League final without their top marksman.
While it's no surprise that the usual question of how they will cope without him has cropped up once again, Eric Dier has stated that the Lilywhites have always managed in his absence in the past as others have stepped up and taken on the mantle.
"Every season we’ve been posed this question we’ve answered it," the versatile player told the Evening Standard . "It’s just up to the other players to step up.
"Harry’s one of the best strikers in the world, so it would be a loss to any team. He’s a really, really important player for us, but everybody has the opportunity to be an important player."
Kane was absent for Sunday's 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup as a Lucas Moura header cancelled out Ashley Fletcher's opener.
Spurs had all the ball but they just couldn't find a second as they pushed on for a winner in the closing stages.
"We need to be better in every aspect. We know that and we’re trying to be," added Dier when assessing the game.
"Yesterday was disappointing. After conceding the goal, [Boro] made it difficult, they played very deep.
"We controlled the game from the beginning, I think our attitude was good and in the end we probably should have scored a second."
