Eric Dier was back in the Spurs team on Saturday as he played his part in the 5-0 demolition of Burnley.
Starting in the first three matches under Jose Mourinho, the versatile player was dropped down to the bench for the midweek defeat at Manchester United.
Dier's absence at Old Trafford was definitely felt as the hosts just raced through midfield time and time again as they won 2-1.
However, the new head coach was quick to restore the player to his team against the Clarets and he justified his selection with an impressive performance alongside Moussa Sissoko in the middle of the park.
Playing a bit-part role in Mauricio Pochettino's final few months at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the ex-Sporting CP man looks set to play a big part under Mourinho as he is a huge fan of the player.
Having grown up in Portugal before returning to his home country in 2014 to join the Lilywhites, the player explained after the win over Burnley why it is "very special" to be now playing under the 56-year-old.
"Of course you start from scratch with someone," said Dier when speaking to the The Express after the game. "It is very different. There is no history and a freedom in that.
"I am really enjoying it, enjoying playing and feel with every game I am feeling better and better.
"We have spoken a lot – both in English and Portuguese! His mentality appeals to me and it is very special.
"Having grown up in Portugal to go from what he was doing at the time to now be playing under him is very special.
"I was a kid at the time but he was a very big thing so it is special to be working for him.
"It is natural that we have that connection but it is nothing more than that and up to me to perform. I know that if I do perform, like I know I can, I will be able to play."
