Eric Dier: I want my ashes scattered in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham's Eric Dier has revealed he wants his ashes to be scattered at the club's stadium.

In a Q&A with this week's ES Magazine, the Spurs centre-half was asked where he would like to be buried and revealed his loyalty to the club runs beyond the grave.

Asked where he would most like to be buried in London, Dier said: “Tottenham’s stadium would be nice!

"I’d have my ashes scattered in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“I don’t really have any deep connections to London other than Tottenham so that’s as good a place as any!”

Dier, who was raised in Portugal but now lives in St. John's Wood, also revealed his childhood hero was Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal.

"Growing up, tennis was very big in my family and my brothers and I were huge Nadal fans," he said.

"I never would have gone for tennis over football, though."

More surprisingly, the England international also reveres the Queen, with the 27-year-old describing the Sovereign as the most iconic Londoner.

"I love the Queen – I’m a big fan of [the TV series] The Crown," he said.
