It has been a dramatic week for Tottenham Hotspur and Eric Dier.
Following Spurs' exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Norwich City after losing out on penalties at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night, Dier was caught on camera going into the stands as he appeared to try and confront a supporter.
The incident attracted plenty of attention and led to investigations from Spurs and the FA, while the Metropolitan Police have confirmed that they are aware of the incident and that enquiries are ongoing, although no arrests have been made.
Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho was asked about the incident during his post-match press conference after the Norwich game and confirmed that Dier was reacting to someone insulting him, with his younger brother also not happy with the situation.
Despite the incident, Dier was named in the starting lineup against Burnley, with the England international playing the full 90 minutes at Turf Moor as Spurs drew 1-1 in Lancashire.
And Dier has taken to social media to send a message to supporters following the game against Burnley.
Writing on Instagram, Dier said: "It was a hard fought game. We reacted well in the second half but it’s disappointing we couldn’t complete the comeback. Thank you for all of your support."
Meanwhile, Dier earned praise from his manager for his performance against the Clarets.

"You could see that his performance was really solid again and completely under emotional control," Mourinho said.
"The abuse that comes from the stand in some occasions is a drama, is a world drama, in some other occasions nothing happened.
"He was completely in control and played well at centre-back and very well in midfield. I'm very happy with Eric of course."
