Eric Clapton cuts concert short after being hit by flying object at Madrid concert

Eric Clapton ended his Madrid concert early after a flying vinyl sleeve hit him in the chest onstage

Eric Clapton cut his recent Madrid concert short after being hit by a flying object.

Shortly after the 81-year-old guitar god performed Cocaine at the Movistar Arena on May 7, a fan site claims an “audience member threw a record at Eric near the end of the show, striking him in the chest."

Clapton was said to be fine after the incident.

Clips circulating online show what looks like a vinyl sleeve hit him in the chest as he walks off the stage.

Clapton then left without performing his encore.

Coming up, the music legend is set to rock Sandringham this summer.

He'll play a one-off concert at the royal residence in Norfolk, as part of the HeritageLive series, which returns to The Sandringham Estate between August 20 and 23.

The Layla hitmaker will top the bill on Sunday August 23.

Giles Cooper of HeritageLive Festivals commented: “Eric Clapton is one of the greatest musicians of all time and it’s a dream come true for all of us at HeritageLive Festivals to have him play at The Sandringham Estate for us next August.

“It’s going to be such a special and unique event – one of those gigs where you say in years to come ‘I was there!’. We just can’t wait!”
