Eric Clapton announces exclusive show at Liverpool M&S Bank Arena

Guitar legend Eric Clapton announced today a limited run of exclusive shows for 2024, including one at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

Once a member of bands including the Yardbirds, Blind Faith and Cream, Clapton is renowned for his skill as a guitarist, garnering countless awards and accolades and playing sold-out performances all over the world. He will be coming to the Liverpool venue on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

With a career spanning decades., it is going to be easy for Clapton to fill a crowd-pleasing setlist of hits people of all ages will know. The last time the musician played in the city was when the arena was known as the ECHO Arena in 2009.

At that gig he threw in a wide variety of classics by fellow musicians, and at the time our reviewer said: "There was the reggae phase with Bob Marley's I Shot the Sheriff, Layla from the Derek and the Dominos days, and a nod to the more modern material, with the superb Little Queen of Spades from Me and Mr Johnson, Eric’s 2004 tribute to legendary bluesman Robert Johnson.

"He even threw in a cover of Somewhere Over the Rainbow for good measure, to whoops and applause from the packed ECHO Arena crowd. But the biggest cheers of all came for the hits from the late 70s Slowhand era – the country-flavoured Lay Down Sally and the beautifully simple Wonderful Tonight."

If you want to be part of the crowd this time around, presale tickets are available from 10am on Wednesday, June 7 while general sale starts on Friday, June 9. Tickets range from £89 to £117.75 (plus ticket processing fees of £2.95).
