Eric Bailly sends message of support to on loan Manchester United midfielder

Eric Bailly reached out to Andreas Pereira on Instagram after the Manchester United midfielder's mistake cost his loan side Flamengo the Copa Libertadores in the dying minutes.

With the scoreline 1-1 between Flamengo and Palmeiras, Pereira received a pass from former Chelsea defender David Luiz.

In an attempt to play the ball back to the goalkeeper, Pereira slipped and allowed substitute Deyverson to run through on goal and score the winner in the 95th minute.

Pereira took to social media to apologise, saying: "Nation, I'm here with a heavy heart! Today I made a mistake! There was no lack of will, race... and it will never be lacking!

"Difficult moments show the character of our group that in these 3 months welcomed me into the @flamengo family with so much affection! I apologise for today's mistake! I promise, I will win you back!"

Bailly responded on social media, telling his teammate to keep his head high.

"Head up crack you are the best and the true fans of @flamengo will help you to lift your head."

There was also a message from former United players Memphis Depay and Angel Gomes.

"Head up lil bro!" wrote Depay. "The future is bright!"

"Head up my brother," said Gomes.
