Eric Bailly reveals Manchester United wish amid improved form

Eric Bailly says he is targeting a prolonged spell in the Manchester United team without suffering an injury following his return to form.

The Ivorian centre-back is one of the most in-form defenders in the Premier League following a string of impressive performances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Bailly's run of four successive starts for United is his longest spell in the team since September 2017, while he hasn't made five successive starts since his debut season at Old Trafford amid a torrid injury record.

The 26-year-old will be hoping to make another start in the Carabao Cup semi-final against City on Wednesday night, but his sole wish is to avoid any further setbacks going forward.

“It’s too early. Too early!" he told  the club website when asked if he is in the best form of his career. "Now you need to make your head calm, train and keep going, getting ready to help the team.

"That’s my first mission and I hope I don’t get injured again, you know. The injuries are very difficult for players when they have the good form. It’s very important to be ready to play every game.

“That [playing regularly] is very important for me, you know, as before, I’d had moments, difficult moments, but now I’ve come back into the team. I am feeling good, train well and yeah I’ll be ready to help the team. I am fit and I want to play.”
