Eric Bailly lifts lid on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's relationship with Manchester United players

Eric Bailly has lifted the lid on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's relationship with the Manchester United players, revealing the players have a huge amount of support for their manager.

Solskjaer has come under pressure at times as United boss, though four consecutive wins either side of the November international break have boosted the Norwegian and his side.

And although Bailly has sat out the victories over Everton, Istanbul Basaksehir, West Brom and Southampton, the centre-back believes a harmonious dressing room and Solskjaer's values are key to United's resurgence.

He told Mundo Deportivo : "We have learned how to overcome adversity because the dressing room is with Solskjaer. He is a close guy who has a good relationship with everyone and understands the football player's codes. He knows when one is not well and he has added a lot of value since he came."

Bailly is now back in full training after picking up another injury early in the season. He had featured for United in their Carabao Cup wins over Brighton and Luton and started in the Premier League against Tottenham, though endured a disastrous day as United were beaten 6-1.

He believes United are sometimes weighed down by their own history, having failed to win the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.

"United compete against their own past," added Bailly. "A team used to winning the Premier or even the Champions League. And it's been down for too long. But now is not the time to look back but to the future and try to turn things around because there is plenty of talent.

"In the league we have to add three [points] at a time, although sometimes it costs like last weekend against West Brom, and then we will see if it is enough to compete for the title."
