Eric Bailly delivers injury update ahead of Man United's crunch games after defeat to Chelsea

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has sent a message to fans following his head injury in his side's 3-1 defeat against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals.

The Blues pulled off the impressive victory at Wembley thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount and Harry Maguire's own goal, with Bruno Fernandes scoring a consolation penalty for the Reds.

Bailly was forced off the field yesterday in an oxygen mask after suffering the head knock.

He clashed heads with United centre-back partner Maguire in the first-half. It was the second time the defender had clashed heads in the opening 45 minutes.

Bailly was up quickly after the contact with Maguire but was eventually given treatment on the field following a stumble. He has since sent a message to fans.

"Thank you for all the messages of support. I am okay, it was just a scare. I feel the pain of yesterday’s defeat even more. But we have to get back up and refocus on the two big games we have this week," he said on social media.

The attention turns back to the Premier League this week with Chelsea, United and Leicester City fighting for the top four.

Chelsea are third with 63 points and two games to go, Leicester sit fourth on 62 points with one match remaining, while United are fifth on 62 points but have two contests left.

The Foxes are above United on goals scored.
