Ereck Flowers speaks about his time with Giants

Ereck Flowers isn’t the most popular guy in the New York area after his time with the Giants.

Flowers, the ninth overall pick in 2015, didn’t match expectations there and made it through three seasons and change before getting cut and going to Jacksonville.

Now Flowers is poised to serve as the Washington Redskins’ starter at guard in Week 1 and naturally, he’s getting some questions about his time in the Big Apple.

“If you read about me, you’d swear I was this villain,” Flowers said, according to NJ Advance Media’s Darryl Slater. “A lot of people don’t know me, so maybe some people have some built-up opinion about me.”

Flowers calls the Redskins a “fresh start,” which it is. He had his problems on the left edge with the team already but won’t have to worry about it thanks to the addition of veteran Donald Penn.

Free to reinvent himself, the Giants questions should only fade from here — especially if he rehabs a guard spot that has been a sour point for the Redskins for a long time.
