A 20-year-old man has been shot dead in a Birmingham suburb.
West Midlands Police has launched a murder investigation following the killing in Goosemoore Lane, Erdington.
Police were called to the scene at around 7.30pm on Thursday evening.
A statement from the force said: "A 20-year-old man was shot dead and his family have been informed.
"No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are on-going to identify those responsible.
"Reassurance patrols have been stepped up in the area to support and reassure the community.
"Goosemoore Lane remains closed whilst investigations are underway."
No arrests have been made.
