EQ Accountants nearly doubles its turnover in five years

EQ Accountants has increased its turnover by almost 95% in five years and grown its staff numbers from 70 to 130.

The tax and accountancy practice, which has offices in Dundee, Forfar, Cupar and Glenrothes, reported an increase in turnover to £7.5 million from £3.8 million in 2014.

While some of the growth can be attributed to the acquisition of offices in Fife in 2016, the firm said it has achieved organic growth of 20% over the last three years.

EQ said it is firmly established as one of the country’s leading R&D tax credit experts and has built on this work with a large number of tax advisory assignments demonstrating its skills in a complex legislative environment.

It has developed a dedicated EQ Taxperts website to give clients and contacts an easy way to search for tax-focused advice with real-life examples.

Managing partner David Cameron said: “We have achieved this growth simply by doing valued work for our clients, and as a result, winning more business.

“We are specialists when it comes to helping clients achieve their business and personal goals and pride ourselves not only on dealing with the compliance side but excelling in complementary services which really add value.”

He added that the firm offers a range of advisory services as well as tax expertise. Services include providing help to owners who want to pass businesses down through generations and identifying structures that will reap rewards for clients.
