The Epic Games Store has kicked off its final week of July giveaways with two roguelite titles, while also confirming what comes next once August officially begins.
Players can currently claim "OTXO" and "Sol Cesto" for free, and more are coming in the latter part of the month, set to take their place starting August 6.
'OTXO'
"OTXO," developed by Lateralis Heavy Industries and published by Super Rare Originals, is a fast-paced top-down shooter with roguelite elements, heavily reminiscent of "Hotline Miami" in both pacing and its sleek black-and-white visual style. Players control a nameless protagonist searching through a shifting, mysterious mansion in an effort to rescue his lost love.
Each run pulls from eight distinct areas built out of more than 150 handcrafted rooms, meaning the layout changes from one attempt to the next.
When a room becomes crowded with enemies, "OTXO" slows time to give players a brief window to react, blending precise gunplay with brutal, close-quarters combat as players work deeper into the mansion's secrets.
"OXTO" is available to claim now on the Epic Games Store until August 6.
'Sol Cesto'
"Sol Cesto" takes a much different approach, offering a tactical, turn-based roguelite set in a dark fantasy world where the sun has vanished entirely. Players choose from several heroes and descend through a randomly generated underground world in search of that lost sun, making decisions along the way that shape how each run unfolds.
On the game's combat grid, players choose one of four rows to move into, then land randomly on one of four tiles within that row, which could hide a monster, a trap, or a reward like gold or a useful item. Magical items, special powers, and curses all factor into how runs play out, adding a layer of risk and reward to every choice made throughout the descent.
"Sol Cesto" only fully launched back in April 2026, making this giveaway a relatively fresh release compared to many past Epic promotions. "Sol Cesto" is available to claim now on the Epic Games Store until August 6.
'Beacon Pines'
"Beacon Pines," developed by Chicago-based indie studio Hiding Spot Games and published by Fellow Traveller, will become free starting August 6. The single-player narrative adventure originally released in September 2022 and presents its mystery as an illustrated storybook, with players controlling both the reader and the story's central character, Luka.
Set in the small town of Beacon Pines, the game follows Luka and his friends as they investigate a series of increasingly strange occurrences. As the reader, players navigate key turning points using The Chronicle, an interactive story tree that lets them fill in blank words using collected golden charms, drastically altering how the narrative unfolds.
As of July 2026, "Beacon Pines" holds an 81 average score on OpenCritic alongside "Overwhelmingly Positive" user reviews on Steam.
"Beacon Pines" is available to claim starting August 6 on the Epic Games Store until August 13.
'We Were Here Together'
Rounding out the August lineup is "We Were Here Together," a two-player cooperative puzzle adventure developed by Dutch studio Total Mayhem Games. Originally released in October 2019, it stands as the third entry in the broader "We Were Here" franchise, requiring two players to communicate and solve interconnected puzzles together in order to progress.
Combined, "Beacon Pines" and "We Were Here Together" carry a total value of $32.98, and both will remain free to claim from August 6 through August 13, 2026, giving players a full week to add either title permanently to their Epic Games Store library.
