Epic cruise to sail around the world in 119 days with stops in 53 destinations

An epic cruise is set to sail around the world in 119 days, with 53 ports of call across 33 countries. Oh, and that includes crossing 24 separate time zones.

MSC Cruises is behind the once-in-a-lifetime voyage on board cruise ship MSC Poesia, set to depart in January 2023 from Genoa, Italy and will sail across six continents.

There will be heaps of bucket-list-worthy experiences such as seeing the cherry blossoms in Japan's Kyoto, exploring the Costa Rican rainforest, discovering the Great Barrier Reef and taking in unrivalled views of the Sydney Opera House.

MSC Poesia will begin her journey in Genoa and will sail on to the Caribbean, before journeying through the Panama Canal with ports of call to the likes of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico and San Francisco.

From there, guests will get to visit the likes of Maui, Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, Auckland in New Zealand, Sydney, the Australian Gold Coast, Cairns and the incredible Great Barrier Reef, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines.

The cruise line has said that there will be "a focus on aspirational locations in Asia", and they deliver on that promise.

The ship will head to Japan so guests don't miss out on the cherry blossom season in Kyoto, while a trip to Tokyo is of course also on the cards. Other highlights will include visits to Shanghai, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.

On the final leg of the journey, the ship will cross the Indian Ocean to the Gulf region of the Middle East before heading home to the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal.

Meanwhile, MSC Poesia offers plenty of amenities to keep passengers entertained during the long voyage.

For a start, the ship boasts heaps of amenities including THREE swimming pools, four whirlpool baths, a giant poolside cinema screen, a luxurious spa, a basketball court, tennis court and a state-of-the-art gym.

Then there's the plethora of restaurants on offer, ranging from fine dining and buffet dining rooms to an onboard Japanese Sushi Bar.

Passengers will also have a wide array of cabins to choose from, whether they're after the luxurious balcony suites or rooms with brilliant ocean views.

MSC Cruises have now opened bookings for the 2023 World Cruise - you can find out more on msccruises.co.uk.

MSC Cruises was forced to cancel its 2021 World Cruise due to the impact of the pandemic on the industry, including global travel restrictions.

However, the cruise line says that passengers who had booked for the voyage can experience the same itinerary on the 2023 MSC World Cruise or opt for the 2022 world sailing instead.
