Argentina star Enzo Fernandez may now be heading for the Premier League after attracting interest from a host of top clubs following his fantastic World Cup campaign.

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison believes the Benfica midfielder will make the next step in his promising career by moving to a side in the Premier League after being named Young Player of the Tournament in Qatar.

Fernandez, who has a £103 million release clause at Benfica, was brought into the Argentina side after their loss to Saudi Arabia in the first group game and the South Americans drastically improved.

The 21-year-old has been praised by former Crystal Palace striker Morrison as interest intensifies in the Argentine midfielder ahead of the January transfer window.

“I like Fernandez, what a player,” Morrison told the Football Show on Sky Sports. “He could be in the Premier League soon. A holding midfielder at such a young age and a young player of the tournament. Outstanding.”

Liverpool are on the hunt for new midfielders with Jurgen Klopp keen to bring in exciting new additions to the engine room.
