In this week's show, we join John Vidal in Abu Dhabi to hear about the world's first sustainable city in the desert, and we go to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to learn which multinational has been voted the world's most environmentally unfriendly company.

John Vidal at the World Future Energy Summit in the United Arab Emerits speaks to Gerard Evenden, senior partner in Lord Forster's architecture practice, about the zero-carbon, car-free, solar-powered project on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi that is being described as the world's first sustainable city.

And we hear from Friends of the Earth, Switzerland about their annual awards to expose global corporation's contemptuous behaviour towards people and the environment.

David Adam, the Guardian's environment correspondent, and, Leo Hickman, ethical living editor for The Guardian, are in the studio to discuss the week's news including European Union targets for biofules and renewable energy.

And Guardian Unlimited's acting editor, Jessica Aldred, has this week's pledge from Tread lightly - to help you cut your CO2.
