Entry requirements for France as month-long ban lifts for UK travellers tomorrow

The French Government has confirmed that UK travellers are allowed back into France.

This comes after a month-long ban due to Omicron cases rising in Britain.

However, since January, Covid cases have risen sharply in France and numbers are twice as high as the UK.

Yesterday country recorded a staggering 368,149 daily Covid cases.

The month long ban only permitted travellers from the UK who had essential reasons to visit France and this month they allowed those in who were travelling on business.

The ban was criticised as a number of countries lifted their restrictions against Brits as Omicron continued spread throughout communities abroad.

The UK have also lifted travel restrictions, due to community spreading. Now, those who are fully vaccinated travelling back to the UK from abroad, including France, does not need to take a pre-departure test and a lateral flow test, not from the NHS, will be accepted as a day two Covid test.

Entry requirements for France

Those travelling from UK to France must follow the requirements and rules.

  • Travellers must fill in France’s online health screening form ahead of travel.
  • Upload the QR codes from your NHS Covid Pass to France’s TousAntiCovid app for entry to most indoor and public venues.
  • Fully vaccinated travellers aged 12 years and over must present a negative PCR or antigen test result taken within 24 hours pre-departure. These must be privately booked and not from the NHS.
  • They must show proof of their vaccine.
  • No rules are changing for unvaccinated travellers-they are only allowed entry if they have a 'compelling reason'.
  • They must also provide a negative Covid test (a PCR or an antigen within the 24 hours before travel) and self-isolate for 48 hours, if they prove a negative test result after that.
