'Entitled' bride sent hate messages by own family over how she spent wedding donations

A soon-to-be bride has revealed she's 'being bombarded' with hate messages from family and friends over her behaviour in the lead up to the wedding.

She says she was due to tie the knot with her fiancé but the pair have been going through a rough time recently which put the plans in doubt.

Her partner broke his leg, which requires surgery, and lost his job which has put pressure on them financially with the big day just around the corner.

The bride said thankfully they have raised about £20,000 in "generous early donations" from relatives and friends to help them fund the big day.

She revealed the pair have already spent the money on her fiancé's medical expenses, new furniture, and for therapy after being "emotionally damaged" - and have now decided to postpone the nuptials.

"After having a thoughtful conversation with my mother and fiancé, I decided to cancel my wedding and reschedule it once we regain financial stability," she wrote.

"I’m now being attacked by my own family and friends for refusing to give back their money since I did not use it as promised.

"I am so hurt that they consider using the donations for health reasons as in 'bad faith'.

"I understand their anger because most of them had to change their plans to attend my wedding but I am still upset at them for not understanding what I've been going through.

"I promised them that I am going to reschedule my wedding and will re open our money funds for any further gifts since we lost most of the money.

"I am now being bombarded by calls and hate messages from my own family and friends and don’t know what to do."

After asking for advice on Reddit, support came in short supply, with one commenting: "They gave you money towards your wedding, you did not use that money towards your wedding.

"Also, I love how you have been considerate enough to reassure them that you'll be reopening your money fund so they can give more after you took the first lot."

A second wrote: "My jaw literally dropped when she suggested that buying new furniture was 'for their health'.

"Also literally saying that they will open back up for MORE free money because they  ' LOST' most of it? Oh, honey, no... You did not 'lose' it; you 'spent' it."

Another simply added: "No one is showing up to this wedding."
