Pupils have been told to stay home from school after one tested positive for Covid.
Year 8 pupils at YG Gwyr in Gowerton, Swansea, will now have to self-isolate for ten days, after one tested positive. In addition, pupils who all travel to school on one particular bus service have also been told to stay home.
It has proved a frustrating development for pupils and parents, who have only just returned to school following a four-month lay off.
One parent said: "It is massively frustrating. My children have been dying to get back to school and into the classroom and to see their friends again. They've only been back a couple of weeks, but it's been so refreshing seeing their positive response to being back in school. I had hoped the days of home schooling were behind us, but here we go again.
"I'm lucky because I work from home, but it must be maddening for those who don't and now have to make new arrangements all over again. But I suppose it's just one of those measures that has to be taken to stop the spread of the virus. The sooner children, and indeed everyone, gets vaccinated the better".
A Swansea Council spokesman added: "In line with current guidance, the Year 8 bubble at the school, along with pupils on a shared bus, are isolating.
"Affected pupils will use blended learning until they can return to school".
