Entire Cabinet must restrict movement as Dail adjourned after Health Minister Stephen Donnelly falls ill amid COVID fears

The entire Cabinet must now self-isolate and the Dail has adjourned after Health Minister Stephen Donnelly fell ill this evening.

As we reported earlier, Minister Donnelly has now contacted his GP and will be taking a coronavirus test imminently.

Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl announced this evening that the entire Cabinet is now being forced to restrict their movements and the Dáil has been adjourned following the news.

The Dáil heard earlier that due to "very serious information arising out of events today the Cabinet must now self isolate".

Deputy Ó Fearghaíl adjourned the house until this day week or until "I am directed by the Taoiseach to reconvene".

The Dáil has now been adjourned until further notice.

Earlier, it emerged that Green Party leader Eamon Ryan - the Minister for Climate Action, Communication Networks and Transport - had already been restricting his movements because a family member was awaiting results a COVID test.

The news comes as the Department of Health revealed that a further 357 cases of the virus have been confirmed, with an additional three deaths from COVID reported.

In one bit of good news,it emerged earlier today that the Pandemic Unemployment Payment will remain open to new applicants until the end of the year.

Also earlier today, the Government announced its medium-term plan for living with the virus.

Under the new Living with COVID plans, Dublin's pubs - which were due to reopen for the first time since March 15 next Monday - will now remain closed, leading to a furious backlash from publicans, the LVA and Drinks Ireland.

Both groups slammed the Government's latest measures, blasting Micheal Martin and Leo Varadkar as well as NPHET, which the LVA described as "anti pubs".
