Entering a contract year, former UGA WR AJ Green says he wants to remain a Cincinnati Bengal

Former Georgia wide receiver AJ Green was selected by the Bengals with the fourth pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and has spent his entire career in Cincinnati.

For the duration of his career, Green has been one of the NFL’s most consistent receivers. In his eight years, he has reached 1,000 yards in all but two seasons — 964 in 2016 and 694 last year…a season in which he missed seven games.

2019 will be Green’s ninth NFL season, which will also be a contract year for the star wideout. He has made it clear many times that he wants to remain a Bengal beyond next season.

When asked about it again on Friday, Green stated that he does not want to leave, and would like to be able to raise both of his kids in Cincinnati.

“All I know is Cincinnati. I can’t see myself playing anywhere else or playing in a different city.”

Last season, Green missed seven games due to an injured toe which required surgery. He announced that he has since been medically cleared, so Bengals fans could expect an extension announced before the start of the season.
