Do you have a passion for writing stories? Enter the Henrietta Branford writing competition and begin your journey to literary success!

This brilliant competition seeks to discover young writers of the future and runs in conjunction with the prestigious Branford Boase award, which was established in memory of children’s writer, Henrietta Branford and editor, Wendy Boase.

All entrants are invited to finish a story begun by last year’s winner of the Branford Boase Award and author of Leopold Blue, Rosie Rowell.

Stories must be no longer than 1000 words, should follow on from the starter paragraph and include a title.

Six lucky winners will be invited to attend the Branford Boase Award celebration party in London where they will meet Dame Jacqueline Wilson and an array of top editors and publishers.

Each young winner will receive a copy of all of the books shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award and be able to have their books signed.

Entrants must be under 19 years of age and live in the UK.

The competition closes on Saturday 23 April 2016. Good luck to all who enter!
