Empress Effects’ ParaEq was an impressively feature-filled stompbox, with three bands of EQ, selectable Q widths and a boost function offering up a huge amount of control in a single pedal.
Now, Empress has added even more tone shaping options to the unit, and packed it all into an even smaller enclosure, with the ParaEq MKII Deluxe.
The updated pedal retains the same clear layout while adding in more precision control via four mini dials that tailor high-pass, low-shelf, high-shelf and low-pass filters. Otherwise, you get +/- 15dB of boost or cut at each EQ band and up to +30dB from the boost circuit, while the mini dials at the top of the unit allow fully variable bandwidth per band. There’s also a boost footswitch, all-analog signal path and your choice of true or buffered bypass.
The result is the most EQ control on offer in the pedal market, now in an even smaller package.
