NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal urged AAP workers to embark on a door-to-door campaign across the national capital, exposing what he termed as the "conspiracies" of the BJP and ensuring the party secures no seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
During a gathering of AAP workers (karyakarta sammelan) on Friday, Kejriwal instructed them to inquire at each household whether people want him to continue serving as the chief minister from jail, in case of his arrest, or if he should resign. Emphasizing his lack of personal ambition for the chief minister's post, Kejriwal highlighted his unique decision to resign after 49 days without external pressure.
Addressing the workers, he outlined the task at hand: engaging with the public, discussing his potential continuation as chief minister, and exposing the alleged conspiracies of the BJP. Kejriwal asserted that preventing the BJP from securing any seats in Delhi would be equivalent to campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls.
Kejriwal accused the BJP of orchestrating conspiracies and imprisoning AAP leaders, citing inspiration from those currently incarcerated. He challenged the workers not to fear imprisonment, claiming that certain leaders, if they were to leave AAP, would be released within 24 hours.
Alleging that the BJP had similar plans to disrupt leaders of regional parties in Bihar, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, Kejriwal confidently asserted that efforts to incarcerate such leaders might backfire.
Highlighting AAP's growth as a national party within a decade, Kejriwal proclaimed the party's status as the third-largest, surpassing 1,350 registered parties and trailing only behind the BJP and Congress. Expressing optimism, he envisioned AAP ruling the country one day, surpassing both major political entities.
