Enraged woman 'rams into car' sporting Trump bumper sticker

A woman has been charged after intentionally ramming into a car that was sporting a Trump bumper sticker, police say.

Chloe Wright, 25, was arrested following the alleged hit-and-run in Hyannis, Massachusetts on 30 June, according to the Cape Cod Times

A driver told police that a woman was repeatedly honking her car horn as he waited at a red light. By the time he stopped at another traffic light, she had begun shouting at him, the newspaper reported.

The man got out, fearing he had a problem with his car, but instead, heard the woman shouting about his bumper sticker.

“I could hear her screaming out the car, so I’m like: ‘Man, maybe there’s something wrong with my car,’” the victim, whose name was not revealed, told CBS Boston. “So I get out and then all of a sudden I hear: ‘You’re racist' and a bunch of cuss words.”

The first thing she said to me when I came out of the car was: ‘Did you vote for Trump?’ I was just like: ‘Yeah, what of it?’ and that’s pretty much what triggered it.”

The woman then allegedly rammed her car into his before fleeing the scene, according to a police report.

“She bent my door and I had to lean back to avoid getting hit,” the man said. “She also hit the side of my car.”

Police reviewed mobile phone footage of the incident shot by the victim, while his partner, who was with him at the time, corroborated the alleged incident, according to Cape Cod Times.

Ms Wright was detained on Monday and appeared at Barnstaple County Court, where she was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, vandalising property and leaving the scene of property damage, Fox News reported.

She was reportedly freed on $1,250 (£955) bail after pleading not guilty.

Barnstable Police Department have been contacted for comment.
