Enraged Jedward twins blast Simon Cowell for 'deleting our legacy' in shock music feud

Jedward have hit out at Simon Cowell after discovering one of their top tunes has seemingly been erased from the internet and streaming services.

The Irish twins – aka 28-year-olds John and Edward Grimes – were furious to realise their medley of Queen and Vanilla Ice songs, titled Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby), has disappeared from music resources.

The single – which samples Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie, and Ice Ice Baby, originally recorded by Vanilla Ice – was the debut track for the lads and was released back in 2010, reaching number 2 in the UK charts and number 1 in Ireland.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, however, the boys expressed their shock, anger, and incomprehension at discovering the song had been removed from streaming platforms and the music video erased from the internet.

Venting their fury, Jedward – who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2009 – demanded answers from their record label, Sony, and from former nemesis, Simon Cowell.

They tweeted: “Yo @SimonCowell and @SonyMusicUK.

“Why have you removed our Iconic 1st single Under Pressure Ice Ice baby from all streaming Platforms and deleted the official music video?

“That’s our legacy! We’re outraged. It’s part of Pop culture! We demand a response!”

So far, neither Sony nor Simon have responded.

It is unclear if Simon would be able to assist in getting to the bottom of why Jedward have seemingly had their music censored due to his sudden departure from the music business world.

Earlier in the week, the mogul revealed he had quit his iconic record label Syco – a subsidiary of Sony music – to focus on his TV projects through his Syco Entertainment business.

A source revealed on Wednesday: “This deal is huge. Simon has had to pay a massive amount to regain control of Syco Entertainment.

"That has meant he is no longer involved in Syco Music but it’s not in great shape right now.

"Leaving it now makes sense for him because he can instead focus on his Got Talent shows, as those are his money-makers now.”
