Lost in Showbiz would like to throw our weight behind Noel Edmonds's anti-TV licence campaign.
We do this not because we believe £139.50 is too much for a licence, nor because, as Noel does, we dislike the corporation's adverts warning that it's an offence not to have one. No. We do it because we feel he needs someone to be nice to him just at the moment ... and this is the part of his recent outpouring that we feel more able (it's a relative thing) to support.
The other bit, you see, is that Noel, who believes in Cosmic Ordering and therefore has decided that his dead parents' souls are floating around him in orbs, has also decided that there has to be an absolute stop to immigration into Britain.
"The politicians - and I am talking about Gordon Brown - have had their day," he says. Which, I'd imagine, is a tiny little flicker of hope on an otherwise fairly gloomy horizon for the PM.
