Police are investigating following a report of a burglary at a commercial premises in Co Fermanagh, where approximately £25,000 of equipment was stolen.
Cathcart Power Equipment had their showroom in Trory, Enniskillen, broken into in the early hours of Friday morning.
A number of power tools including chainsaws, strimmers and generators were taken from the showroom
The business’ managing director Shane Byrne said it was a disappointing thing to happen considering the difficulties faced by local businesses in the area recently.
“It seemed to have happened at around 3am this morning, they broke the front window and came in and grabbed a lot of our stock, which is heartbreaking obviously,” Shane told MyFermanagh.
“It’s the last thing that any business needs, it’s been a tough year for everybody in all businesses.
“It’s the last thing we needed when we woke up this morning, but that’s what happened and we have to deal with it and get on with it.”
Police confirmed they were investigating the incident and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police in Enniskillen are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary of a business premises at Killadeas Road this morning, Friday November 12th.
Detective Inspector Winters said: “Police received a report at 8.35am that entry had been gained to the business and a fence had been knocked over on the airport road side of the grounds.
“Approximately £25,000 worth of items have been taken.
“Our investigation is at a very early stage and we are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or have information or dash cam footage which could assist our investigation to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 328 12/11/21.”
