If you’re a dog owner looking for a way to celebrate Halloween with your pooch and tuck into some tasty food in the process - and let’s face it, who wouldn’t be? - the perfect event for you is coming up in County Durham .
The South Causey Inn hotel in Stanley is hosting its first Halloween Doggy Afternoon Tea on Sunday 30 October. Each guest can bring up to two dogs with them, and the pups will be able to enjoy their own special treats alongside their owners.
The human guests will be served a classic afternoon tea platter, complete with free-flowing tea and coffee and a choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic Prosecco. Meanwhile, the four-legged friends in attendance will be treated to their own afternoon snack in the form of doggy ice cream.

In a spooky twist, a Halloween guest will make an appearance during the event and hand out free gifts for all your furry friends. Then it will be time for you and your pooch to pose as you get your photo taken for the competition part of the day.
Guests and their dogs are both encouraged to dress up in their scariest costumes for the occasion. Dust off your most frightening outfit - the winner judged to be the best-dressed at the event will win a free Sunday Lunch for two at the hotel.
Tickets for the event cost £35 per person and their pups, which includes food, drink and all the special treats. There is also a children’s ticket available for £25 - kids will be served the afternoon tea platter and a mocktail.
