Enjoy perfect family day out for free at Speke Hall and other National Trusts hotspots

The kids are still off for summer and what better way to keep them entertained than to go out exploring.

Luckily, The National Trust has many options for you and your family to choose from in and around Liverpool.

Attractions range from the industrial heritage site Quarry Bank to the gardens of Dunham Massey where visitors might even come across the resident herd of fallow deer.

One of the more popular spots is Speke Hall - a green oasis with a rare Tudor house at its heart, surrounded by beautiful gardens, woodland finished off with glorious views over the River Mersey.

Here the family can enjoy playing with vegetable musical instruments, solving a mind-boggling hedge maze and making their own woodland den.

Just when it couldn't get any better? Dogs are welcome to come.

Families can find baby-changing facilities at Home Farm and in the Dairy Courtyard next to the house.

The Home Farm restaurant on site also offers tasty kids lunchboxes containing sandwiches, fruit, a treat and juice or water with indoor and outdoor seating being available to choose from.

Alternatively, you can bring a picnic with plenty of tables, benches and spots to lay out a blanket.

If this sounds like the ideal day for you and your loved ones - our sister site 2chill have partnered with National Trust to offer you a family pass giving you the chance to visit a National Trust location for FREE!

And by visiting the various sites, you'll be contributing to helping the National Trust to care for the miles of precious nature across the nation that they protect.
