English YouTube star mocks Wales players and tells them 'you're getting destroyed'

"Wales, you're getting destroyed in Qatar!"

Those are the thoughts of English YouTube star Thogden after seeing Rob Page's World Cup squad. The England fan mocked the Welsh squad ahead of the tournament in a video that has gained a huge audience online.

It's the latest offering from over the bridge to dismiss Wales out of hand, following radio comments from former players Gabby Agbonlahor and Jason Cundy, who admitted he was desperate for Wales to flop in Qatar.

The 2022 World Cup is just days away now, with hosts Qatar kicking off proceedings against Ecuador on Sunday, November 20. Wales get their tournament underway on the following day against USA at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.

Wales will play England in their final Group B match on November 29 and England fan Thogden, who has over one million YouTube subscribers and has appeared on Sky Sports, has delivered a damning verdict on Cymru's players.

"The Wales squad has been announced and as an England fan, we will be facing them," he said.

"I'm not worried about the goalkeepers, defenders, I'm not worried. Ben Davies - I mean are you really trying to scare me there? Ethan Ampadu - I've not heard of him in donkey's. Neco Williams is alright.

"In the midfield I do not see one name outside of Aaron Ramsey. He's doing alright in Nice, I watched him on the telly last night. Apart from that, I mean - Jonny Williams? Are we playing in 2018 for god's sake?!

"Joe Allen. I thought he'd be retired by now lads, come on.

"Forwards, you've got Gareth Bale, Kieffer Moore who's doing well, Brennan Johnson and Dan James. There's good options up front, but the rest of the team cannot back it.

"Wales, you're getting destroyed in Qatar. I'm sorry this team is bang average."

The video is one of the most watched when using the search terms 'Wales World Cup' on TikTok this week. It has gained over 350,000 views in one day.

Welsh fans were quick to jump the team's defence in the comments.

"You have probably never been to watch Wales." said one.

"Save this for when Bale scores a free kick to beat England." said another.

The last time Wales and England were in the same group at a major international tournament was Euro 2016. Chris Coleman's team would go on to top the group ahead of England in second place.

World Cup Group B is comprised of Wales, England, Iran and USA. The top two will qualify for the round of 16 knockout stages on December 3.
