English woman thrown off Welsh beach says she 'didn't realise Wales wasn't in England'

An English woman kicked off a Welsh beach with her family by police admitted later she ‘didn’t realise Wales wasn’t in England’.

The indignant woman filmed police officers asking her and her children to leave the beach in Barmouth, Wales, and told them ‘Boris Johnson said’ she could go there.

The woman later posted that video on social media, but admitted she didn’t realise that different rules applied in Wales, where a stricter lockdown is still in effect, or even that Wales was not in England.

The woman then launched into a tirade against the Welsh on social media, before pledging she’d be going to an English beach.

The incident, which happened last Wednesday, has been revealed by North Wales Live, who spared the woman’s blushes by not naming her.

It is understood she travelled around 110 miles from the West Midlands to Barmouth, which is just off the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park and very much in Wales.

But two police officers asked her to leave the otherwise deserted beach, and she did not appear to understand why.

“You’re telling me it’s illegal to be at this beach when Boris Johnson said that you can?” she asked the police officers, with incredulity.

Despite the officer informing her the rules in Wales are different to those in England, she replied: “So which beach can I go to today?”

After the officer explained she was in breach of the Welsh Government’s travel regulations by crossing the English border into Wales, she said: “That’s 100 per cent that is? I’ve been here three times before.”

Later that day, she took to social media again, posting a foul-mouthed rant about Wales, and admitted she did not realise Wales and England were two separate countries.

"I was ignorant. I didn't realise Wales wasn't in England,” she wrote.

“Fully understand I was in the wrong. See I admit when I f*** up.
