Roy Hodgson’s side also looked beatable based on the fact they lost, 1-0, at Sheffield United in Week 2, its first away trip of the 2019-20 campaign. Yet to score after two games, Palace might settle just to get on the board in its visit to Old Trafford, where the Red Devils ran out, 4-0, victors over Chelsea in their season opener.
One thing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may want to address before Saturday is penalty duties. Paul Pogba took his own spot-kick on Monday and saw his effort saved after Marcus Rashford won and converted a penalty against Chelsea in Week 1. Many disagreed with the lack of clarity on penalty duties, with United missing out on two precious points as a result of Pogba’s saved attempt.
Hodgson’s only major concerns are in defense as centre-backs Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins remain sidelined with injury. United defender Eric Bailly is still out of action and won’t be available, while Alexis Sanchez is regaining match fitness and likely won’t be involved.
