English police in Scotland for COP26 help deal with incident on motorway near Falkirk

Two North Yorkshire police officers who are in Scotland for COP26 helped deal with an incident in Falkirk yesterday.

The officers were available to assist Police Scotland by responding to a concern for a person call around 12.20am on Monday November 8.

Emergency services rushed to the M9 between junction 4 westbound and junction 5 eastbound which was closed amid the incident.

The man was taken to hospital for assessment while the English officers later attended to ensure everything had been resolved.

Police Scotland shared news of the incident on social media, posting: "Two officers providing COP26 mutual aid from @NYorksPolice were in the right place at the right time in the early hours of yesterday, 8 November, when a report of a concern for welfare came in for a man on the M9 near Falkirk.

"Shortly after midnight they attended the incident, making sure it was resolved safely. Thank you to the officers involved."

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Around 12.20am on Monday, 8 November, 2021, police received a concern for person call.

"Emergency services attended and a man has been taken to hospital for assessment.

"The M9 between junction 4 westbound and junction 5 eastbound was closed as officers dealt with the incident."
