English football's best grounds for a pint - including a stand-out winner

Newcastle's St. James' Park tops the list as the best stadium in English football for fans to quench their pre-match thirst.

A staple of matchdays all across the country, fans have more choice on hand to obtain a pint in the homeland of the Toon army than any other ground.

There are a whopping 108 pubs in a half-mile radius of Newcastle's stadium, according to research from Pubs Galore.

League Two side Newport County follow in second place along with Wolves , but both are over 70 pubs behind with 32 in close viscinity.

Ipswich (29) and Blackpool (26) make up the top five, but all pale (ale) in comparison to the Geordies.

If the list was extended to a mile radius, Sheffield United would be ranked higher in second with 134 boozers, but Newcastle would still claim top spot with 174.
