England WAGs pass Covid tests to cheer on squad at Wembley in first Euro 2020 game

The England football team’s wives and girlfriends have been given the all clear to cheer on the lads in person at Wembley.

They were given the covid all clear ahead of England’s first game against Croatia at 2pm on Sunday.

Medics from the players’ Premier League clubs screened the wives and girlfriends 48 hours in advance of kickoff.

Included in the squad are Katie Goodland, married to Harry Kane; Harry Maguire’s fiancee Fern Hawkins, Jordan Pickford’s wife Megan Davison, as well as Kyle Walker’s fiancee Annie Kilner.

The group will convene for a lunch at a secret location before the match, being joined by family for the occasion.

They will then take a coach to Wembley to watch the game.

Player liaison officials from the Football Association will be present to chaperone the group, and protocols will be in place to make sure that Covid regulations are adhered to.

A source told the Sun: "Plans have been put in place to keep everyone safe.

"The WAGs and families haven't been able to watch the players at a match because of Covid, but with fans coming back, it was important they were included too.

"The FA and England boss Gareth Southgate are aware of how important family is to the players. They will play a key role this summer if England are to bring it home."

England maintain high hopes for the championship, with their first fixture of the much awaited tournament being against Croatia on Sunday at 2pm.

Fans across the country have been gearing up for the competition, on the edge of their seats at the exciting prospect of an England victory.
